Educational workshops and talks

Here at Plàncton we are firm believers in the importance of environmental education activities for young children to raise their awareness and understanding of environmental issues from a very early age. With this in mind, we have created a series of workshops – for both classroom activities and excursions to the beach or in the sea – to find out more about our marine ecosystems at first hand. Our most popular activities are the educational snorkelling excursions we organize in l’Ametlla de Mar, but we have many more proposals prepared for youngsters to learn about all aspects of marine sciences as well as other environmental concerns on everyone’s mind these days such as sea pollution caused by plastic packaging or how climate change affects the sea. 

We also offer these kinds of awareness activities for the public in general to learn more about sea life in a pleasant and fun way but always based on the clear message that we must protect and conserve the oceans. We have carried out activities for local town halls, libraries, youth centres, and associations and we have also given courses for older students at universities (such as the URV) and a TEDx talk in Amposta.
